We offer a comprehensive range of engineering services, including advice on site selection, detailed site investigation, feasibility studies, project planning, detailed structural, mechanical and electrical design, coordination and management of the project, fire safety design, construction safety and technical supervision of construction. These services may be tailored to suit the requirements of each appointment

Our Services

Project Management

Since the 1970s JODA have acted in the role of project managers and design team leaders. Initially the commissions were restricted to industrial projects. However, as skills developed and the JODA reputation expanded the scope extended to hospital works, sports centres, educational and other buildings.

Cork City Council has valued JODA with prestigious commissions such as the municipal swimming complexes at Leisureworld, Bishopstown and Churchfield Leisure Centre. Extensive clean rooms at Millipore in Carrigtwohill were constructed with JODA in a managing role. The various buildings and extensions at EMC in Ballincollig were project managed by JODA. Bon Secours Hospital in Cork selected JODA as their team leaders in the 1990s, and the practice has managed projects to the value of €30m since then.

Civil Engineering

Since the formation of the firm, JODA have developed extensive experience in specialist civil engineering Design in areas such as bridges, marine works, coastal protection, geotechnical slope stabilisation and infrastructure design for major commercial and residential projects.

JODA have developed a particular expertise in slope stabilisation projects involving innovative solutions to solve problems in difficult terrain.

Expertise in infrastructural design has also been developed in the firm, in conjunction with major urban and industrial development projects.

Structural Engineering

Structural engineering projects form the largest part of the JODA workload. Many of our engineers are chartered members of The Institution of Structural Engineers.

JODA has constantly raised the bar and contently met the increased client expectation of what engineers can achieve with the result that innovation and the development of unique structural solutions are part of the JODA experience. JODA are involved in projects in both the public and private arenas covering residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Mechanical and Electrical Building Services

An early development of the practice was the formation of a mechanical and electrical services division. The services division can now look back on almost 40 years of services development, and the successful completion of some of the largest and most challenging projects in the South of Ireland.

The range of work undertaken remains as varied and extensive as ever and principal among these are the provision of creative solutions to the health, educational, retail, leisure and housing sectors.

The practice has invested in the qualifications and experience of its staff, regarded as JODA’s principle asset. It has also invested in I.T. based equipment for technical calculations, simulations and designs to develop buildings of the future.
